Ammonite Cleoniceras Besairei comes from Madagascar. The fosile has been split in half and polished to show the wonderful detail within.
Some of the individual chambers are open and filled with
rich caramel-colored Calcite crystals ,some are filled with various
minerals,different colour different stages of formation
The septa (divisions) between each chamber preserved as white Calcite, making for a superb display piece. The outher side shows the intricate suturing that allowed the ammonite to reinforce its shell.
This is a fine example of an ammonite from the Albian (112 m.y.a) deposits of Madagascar, one that is sure to be a fine addition to any ammonite collection.
